NEET PG Exams 2023: NEET PG exam will not be postponed, Supreme Court rejects doctors' petition

 


NEET PG Exams Postponement: There is a big setback for the students demanding postponement of NEET PG exam. The Supreme Court has rejected the petition to postpone the NEET PG exam.


Supreme Court on NEET PG 2023 Exams:

The candidates of NEET PG 2023 have got a big blow from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the petition to postpone the NEET PG 2023 exam. NEET PG 2023 exam is to be held on March 5, 2023. Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Aishwarya Bhati told a bench of Justices SR Bhatt and Dipankar Dutt that the admit cards for the exam would be issued. Aishwarya Bhati is appearing in the court on behalf of the National Board of Examinations.


Counseling will be done as per schedule

ASG Aishwarya Bhati told the two-judge bench that the counseling would be held on July 15 as per schedule. The ASG said, 'No date is yet available for conducting the exam with our technology partner in the near future.' The petitioner had demanded the postponement of the NEET exam in the petition. It has been said in the petition that the counseling should be held after August 11 as the cut off date of internship has been extended till then. Significantly, on February 24, the National Board of Education told the Supreme Court that 2.09 lakh candidates have registered for the NEET PG exam 2023.

According to the National Education Board, if the exam is postponed now, then no other date is available for the exam in the near future. On February 10, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said in the Lok Sabha that the NEET PG exam would be held on the fixed date i.e. March 5 only. To ensure that no one misses the exam, the ministry had extended the cut-off date for MBBS students doing internships. The Health Ministry had increased the cut-off date for internship from June 30 to August 11.
