Local products at airports: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has started providing Self Help Groups (SHGs) at various airports. Where the artisans associated with these groups will be able to sell their products made locally. The Self Help Groups are already displaying their products at 12 airports including Agartala, Kushinagar, Udaipur and Madurai under the 'Airport as a Selling Point' initiative for local skilled craftsmen.

Process going on at these airports also
AAI said that airports of many other cities including Varanasi, Calicut, Kolkata, Coimbatore and Raipur will also be given space for sale of products to local groups in coordination with the respective state governments. The process to accommodate Local Groups (SHGs) is also underway at the airports of Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar, Raipur, Silchar, Dibrugarh and Jorhat.
AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar told PTI-language that, "The objective of Opportunity initiative is to not only provide a platform to SHGs at airports but also to acquaint passengers with the heritage and ethos of the location specific.
These groups are given 100-200 square feet of space at the airport to showcase products made by rural women and artisans.
